The National Panhellenic Conference

     The National Panhellenic Conference is a governing body of 26 international sororities.  It sets fundamental standards and expectations for these groups.  It also provides a screening system for these 26 groups; the NPC receives applications from Interest Groups, decides if these groups suit sorority guidelines, and then either accept or refuse their applications.  The groups accepted must demonstrate positivity, an eagerness to create a beneficial organization, and be knowledgeable in a variety of areas.  This group has been around since the early 20th century and has helped improve the many sororities it governs.
